How to double your savings!

Have you checked out Shortcuts.com and Cellfire.com for ecoupons yet?  I love these sites, they allow for me to double up coupons and save sorting time all at once.

Here is an example of how you can use these free services to your benefit.

This is only an example these items are NOT on sale this week.

Toll House Dough is $5.00 at Safeway.  You have a 1/.50 insert or printable coupon.  After Safeway doubles your coupon the cookie dough is now $4.00, not bad, a dollar saved is a dollar earned.  However if you add the cellfire 1/.50 coupon to your member card the dough is now $3.50.  Check out this blog for real life examples.

Here are some things to keep in mind when using your ecoupons...
  • Ecoupons are not doubled like other printed or insert coupons.
  • If they run a special where you have to buy X dollar amount to get X back.  Pay attention to your ecoupons because they are taken off in the beginning as items are scanned and throw off the dollar spent.  Insert and printable coupons are taken off at the end, which allows you to hit your dollar amount before coupons.  The benefit to this is less out of pocket.
  • There is a limit of the number of coupons your card will hold, I find it best to load it with coupons that match your insert coupons.
